Richard Paterson
Richard Paterson is a Certified Advanced Rolfer®, trained at the Ida Rolf Institute®, and also certified in Thai Massage and Reiki Level II. He is a licensed massage therapist in Pennsylvania (License #MSG005541) and New Jersey (License # 18KT01039000). Massachusetts does not require Certified Rolfers to have a license. Richard has more than 1200 hours of formal bodywork training and additional training in Cold Laser Therapy.
He also holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from Union Institute. He draws from extensive life experience as a high school guidance counselor, planetarium director, and teacher in elementary, secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels. His primary career was with Federal land-managing agencies, where the last position was Director of Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, PA. His pre-occupation is running (40-50 miles per week for 58+ years) which has led to many chronic running ailments. Rolfing Structural Integration eliminated his issues and greatly improved his running performance. He is married (46 years) to Mary Mastran; we have two adult daughters and three granddaughters.
