Lara Gibson
M.Ed Exercise Physiology, CSCS, Stretch Center Certified
Assisted Stretch & Movement Specialist
Lara has worked in the fitness industry for more than 25 years as a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, and physical education teacher. Her extensive experience working with people of different ages and abilities has shaped an approach that is both knowledgeable and practical.
Her interest in fascial stretching began during her years as a collegiate basketball player. She continued to develop her understanding of stretching and movement throughout her career as a personal trainer, eventually specializing in assisted stretching and fascial-focused techniques.
Lara is certified in assisted stretching through the Stretch Center and brings this specialized training together with her extensive background in fitness, yoga, strength training, and movement education.
A Whole-Body Approach to Stretching
Lara views stretching as more than simply increasing flexibility. Her work focuses on helping people move more comfortably and freely by addressing mobility, muscular tension, and the fascial system.
She incorporates assisted stretching techniques, including PNF stretching, along with principles of myofascial release. Lara works closely with Richard Paterson, Advanced Rolfer, and draws on this collaboration to bring a deeper understanding of fascia and connective tissue to her practice.
Her goal is to create a supportive, individualized experience that helps each person better understand and connect with their own body.
A Lifelong Educator
Lara’s experience as an educator is an important part of her work. She has taught assisted PNF stretching as part of advanced physical education classes for high school students and has instructed more than 2,000 hours of yoga to teenagers.
Teaching movement to young people has given Lara extensive experience adapting techniques to different bodies, abilities, and levels of experience. She brings that same individualized and encouraging approach to her work with adults.
