Dr. George Mandler LDN LicAc DAcCHM
I assume you’re here to see if I can help with your health concerns. Likely, I can. I’d say there’s more than an 80% chance I can provide some relief for whatever issues are bothering you.
I have a special interest in challenging cases involving chronic inflammation, pain, digestive disorders, gynecology and fertility issues, and men’s health. Additionally, my extensive life and clinical experiences help me unfold complex presentations.
My CV is here.
I bring inquisitive dedication to both men’s and women’s health through my acupuncture, herbal, and nutrition practice. I am licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine as a Licensed Acupuncturist and by the Massachusetts Board of Dietitians and Nutritionists as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist. I also became a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine in 2013, demonstrating advanced proficiency in women’s and men’s reproductive health.
I paid my cover charge, which is for a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), where I graduated in 2006. Paying this cover charge allows me to practice Chinese Medicine and continually improve my skills each year. I also earned a master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven in 2004 after studying various nutrition programs starting in 1992. In 2025, I completed an entry-level Doctoral program at YoSan University.
In 2008/9, I received advanced training in the delayed peripheral immunological response to food antigens, known as food hypersensitivities. It gave me an understanding of how our immune systems can become dysfunctional, leading to a loss of oral tolerance to certain foods. (Our complex immune system is so fascinating!). In 2010, I completed the Certified LEAP Therapist training with Oxford Labs, which offers what I believe is the best food hypersensitivity test available. (but it is how one uses the results that matters).
I am also an adjunct faculty member at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences New England School of Acupuncture, where I have been teaching Western Nutrition since 2007. I also taught Traditional Chinese Medicine Etiology and Pathology of Women’s and Men’s Health when NESA was in Newton, MA.
I transitioned into Chinese Medicine from a background in Functional Medicine, studying alongside many practitioners who are now today’s Functional Medicine teachers. However, I have shifted my practice toward a more profound tradition of Classical Chinese Medicine because it offers deeper healing, and its teachings truly resonate with me. Classical Chinese Medicine also provides a more natural way to think about life compared to what is taught in most Chinese Medicine schools. The ancient texts contain the Life code for living in harmony, emphasizing that we are an integral part of nature, not separate from it.
My introduction to the Classics was inspired by my ongoing studies with Sharon Weizenbaum at White Pine Institute. Sharon offers enough material for every day of the year and more. This has opened many doors to other great teachers and practitioners. For example, it motivated me to pursue a year-long study of the Huang Di Nei Jing with Dr. Ed Neal, MD. Dr. Neal compares Chinese Medicine to a wise old sage and Western medicine to a young adolescent, thinking it knows everything and ignoring the elders’ advice. Too often, Western Medicine dismisses the past as outdated. Chinese Medicine looks to the past to understand the future.
Studying Classical Chinese Medicine is my journey of uncovering one layer, then another, in a circular fashion. It’s a continuous discovery of brilliant insights. When the correct input is given to the body, people can restore physiological functions and stop many medications. Providing the right input is what distinguishes practitioners. I find great satisfaction in using this brilliant medicine to help patients tap into their healing abilities, thus avoiding medications or invasive procedures. I plan to practice this incredible medicine until I can no longer do so physically, because I believe I will become a more skilled practitioner each passing year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
